The new Sleeping at Last album in now available! I've given this album a thorough listen, and all I can say is, this is an album that is VERY important to this point in time. The band has really put everything they have into this one, and I am honored to have been a part of it. You can download it here.
Thank you Ryan and Dan for letting me be a part of this experience.
I will be joining them for their album release show in Chicago on September 19th. It should be a fun evening, and I'm hoping that some of you in the Chicago area can make it out! Tickets are on sale now here. Thanks for reading!
I've recently been doing some licensing work with a non-profit company called water.org. It was founded by Matt Damon and Gary White back in 1990. In the videos below, you can get an idea of the amazing work that the Water Partners have been doing recently.
I've recently discovered a band called "Dirty Projectors". My brother told me about them months ago, and I just got around to finally listening to their new album, "Bitte Orca".
So, I have to be honest. I have not listened to most of the songs on the album, mainly just one. The song is entitled "Two Doves", and it's easily the greatest song I've heard in years. You can hear it here. Strings- outstanding, Melody- classic, Voice- perfect. I will warn you that this is the ONLY song on this album with this "sound". The rest of the album is drastically different. Though still impressive, the other songs don't seem quite as captivating as this one.
So, after posting all of those new pictures, Elsie let me know that one of them ended up on the front page of Explore on Flickr. Though I don't really know what that means, I'm pretty sure that it's good.
I was really looking forward to posting about a non-profit organization I've been doing some licensing for, but their site is down for the night. I'll try to fill you in on the details tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
As promised, here are my favorite photos from the photo shoot this past weekend. Elsie and I have been really into Mad Men lately, so the above photos are inspired by that era. I have our friend, Vivianna to thank for the bear hat. It was a fun photo shoot.
I've been working on learning a new piece by Paul Hindemith this past month. I've also been writing two songs of my own and trying to take advantage of this window of inspiration. I'll write again soon about the things I am looking forward to in the coming season. I had a photo shoot this past weekend. I'll share photos from it tomorrow.
