As I mentioned in the previous blog, we were supposed to drive through Salt Lake City on our way to Denver, but there were a snow storm and several roads were closed. We decided to head back south and drive through Arizona instead, but there was a dust storm in Flagstaff and the highway was closed. So we stayed the night there, and leftthis morning for Santa Fe.
We drove a few hours and were slowed to a stop about halfway there. We heard on the radio that the traffic was backed up all the way across state lines. The culprit: road construction (or in my humble opinion, horrible planning on the part of the DOT).
We spent hours looking for alternate routes and ended up blazing through dirt roads in the desert keep in mind, we are driving a van and pulling a large trailer). We decided to turn around when we got here:
It kind of looks pretty in the picture, but I think we were very close to death. We've had a few days off and I'm looking forward to playing in Denver tomorrow night. Hope to see some of you there. Thanks for reading! Jeremy
