The Fort Christmas EP will be released two weeks from tomorrow (October 19th)! In the meantime, I'd like to give you a free download of "The Leave Behind". It's the first track on the EP.
(For Mac users, just hold down control, click the link, and choose "Save As". For PC users, I think you just right click it, and choose "Save As".)
The Reason for Fort Christmas
The whole EP tells the story of Elsie and I, starting with our first date, and ending with our engagement. There are primarily three reasons why I made this side project.
1. I wanted to do something fun and completely different than the album I've spent the last two years making. I was feeling like I needed to hit some kind of "reset" button in my brain before making any new music under my own name.
2. I knew that there was going to be a long wait before my full length album came out, and I wanted to give you all something to listen to during the fall season. I guess it's kind of like a little appetizer for you while you are waiting for the main course.
3. I wanted to make something the preserve the memory of Elsie and I's first years together.
So there you have it. Two weeks is not a lot of time to promote this, but I have the kindest and most supportive audience that anyone could ever ask for, so I'm not worried!
